balance of your world
Education package to accompany the exhibition 'Balance of your World'

Create your own artwork
Consider what the concept 'balance of your world' means to you. You have been commissioned to create an artwork to be included in the exhibition 'Balance of Your World'. It will need to explore aspects of your own world and identity, showing your emotions towards a particular scene, landscape or subject.
Your artwork will need to manipulate shape and colour value to create balance, contrast or patterns symbolic of your chosen subject. You will need to draw on the abstract styles of Sally Gabori, Johannes Itten, Paul Klee and Kaye Johnston and the techniques they use to create a balanced artwork.
To create your artwork you will be provided with a range of mediums such as acrylic paint, charcoal, India ink and oil pastels. You may need to conduct further research into how to manipulate these mediums.
You will be presenting your artwork on the 11th February and it will need to be accompanied with a brief statement explaining your intent.
